DP2 - Intermediate Digital Photography (3 x two hours)
This course will set you on the path of understanding the more advanced features of your digital SLR or mirrorless camera and getting the most from it. You will learn how to use your camera more creatively with shooting modes such as aperture priority, shutter priority, and manual. We will cover different ways to control depth of field, how to use your cameras light meter, and proper use of flash that will help make your images stand out. Technical issues such as ISO sensitivity, dealing with tricky exposures, understanding histograms, focusing in difficult situations, getting correct white balance, color parameters, the benefits of camera RAW, dealing with image size & resolution and many more, will be explained with an easy to understand hands-on approach. Included in the course is an outdoor shoot with coaching at a picturesque local location. You will receive a shooting exercise/assignment and results will be viewed and discussed in the final class. Please bring your digital SLR (with fresh battery charge), and owner’s manual if you have one, to each class.
