DP1 - Introduction to Digital Photography

DP1This “Intro to Digital Photography”, entry level course is an essential first step to getting comfortable with your DSLR or mirrorless camera. You will learn about key features of the camera that will get you out of automatic “Point and Shoot” mode, and into more creative shooting modes, allowing you to capture more compelling images. We will cover techniques will that help you make the most of different situations such as portraiture, sports, or landscape photography. You will also learn about some difficult situations that you need to watch out for, and how to get better results in those situations. And finally, you will learn how to use your cameras focus system to ensure that your pictures will be sharp.

All of this is covered with an easy hands-on approach which includes an indoor learning session as well as an outdoor shooting session.

Who is this course for?
Anyone who has recently made the leap to a higher end digital camera (meaning SLR or Mirrorless), or simply wants a refresher to get back in the groove or beyond using fully automatic.

What To Bring To Class:
Your digital camera with a fully charged battery and memory card, as well as your owner’s manual if available. If you don’t yet own a higher end camera, a loaner unit is available at no charge during the sessions.

Class Size: Minimum 4 / Maximum 8

Duration: 2 classes of 2 hrs each: (2 hrs lecture and 2hr photo shoot)
